Like a lotus flower, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness and radiate into the world.
Spring is a season of renewal and new beginnings as well as the transition from the darkness of winter into greater daylight. The lotus flower sits on the surface of ponds. Its beautiful white petals open to the sun, while its roots, strong and resilient, remain embedded in the muddy bottom. Just like spring, the lotus is a symbol of light and beauty that emerges from darkness and a reminder that love and grace live within us even during those times when things feel muddy. Live like the lotus...Embrace the mud, stay connected to your roots and open yourself to the light by practicing this heart opening mudra. Place your palms to touch, thumbs at the center of your chest. Slowly part your three middle fingers, keeping your thumbs, pinkies and the heels of your hands connected. Gaze into the space you've created at the center of your palms. Plant any "seeds" you wish to grow and nourish as we move into this new season.
